HOW WE DIFFER

Built on earth and time.

We don't reach for the spray. Instead we build biodiversity - beneficial insects, pollinators, and a little patience - so the ecosystem keeps the pests in check for us.

01

Historically when we have seen a pest on our plants or in the garden, we instinctively buy the chemical spray for that problem. We have been delighted to see all is well after its use, but science has now demonstrated the actual cost and one that is yet to be fully determined.

02

Biodiversity is the key with pests and diseases. We know that chemical use is detrimental on beneficial insects and our climate. What we had been creating was a hamster-wheel effect: pests – chemicals – destroy beneficial insects – more pests – more chemicals – more loss of beneficials.

03

Our growing areas are stewarded to increase biodiversity by allowing some of the flowers be left for the pollinators and by introducing and increasing beneficial insects like ladybirds and lacewings. These insects feed on green flies and the like which if left unchecked can decimate an entire crop.
